A Healthy Smoothie for Hair Growth

This superfood hair smoothie recipe is an easy and delicious way to give your body the essential vitamins and minerals it needs to grow strong, healthy, and shiny hair. Packed with 5 superfoods, this smoothie is sure to not only help with growing healthy hair but can also help energy, immunity, and boost digestive health. Though this smoothie is packed with essential nutrients it does not compromise taste, and we encourage you to use what you have in your fridge or pantry and make swaps where need be! If you are dairy-free and/or vegan, feel free to substitute the greek yogurt for plant-based yogurt or your favorite plant milk. You could also throw in a frozen banana or add more ice if you’d like the smoothie's texture to be creamier and thicker. If you prefer to use a different sweetener, you could add dates or even maple syrup instead of honey. The combinations are endless!

The prep time for this recipe is around a minute excluding the soak time for the chia and flax seeds, but it can be prepped in advance for when you are in a time crunch. If you’d like to speed up the process, throw all ingredients in a blender sans the chia and flax seed soak time and allow the finished smoothie to let stand for 5-10 mins to allow the seeds to gel for easier digestion.   • 1 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen spinach
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey 
  • 1 cup water
  • Optional: 1 scoop of collagen powder


Step 1

Combine water, chia seeds, and flax seeds in bowl and allow to soak for 15 minutes to soften. This will help the seeds digest better, blend smoother, and minimize grainy texture.

Step 2

Add berries, spinach, greek yogurt, honey, optional collagen powder, and flax and chia water mixture into blender.

Step 3

Blend, pour into cup of choice, and enjoy!
